THE body of late ex-Warriors forward Tendai “Fire” Ndoro is expected to arrive in Zimbabwe today, his family has confirmed. Ndoro reportedly passed away in his South African apartment on Monday.
The footballer’s father, Silas Mukundwa, revealed the plans from the family’s residence in Bulawayo’s Nketa 8 suburb.
“All I can confirm is that his body is going to arrive by a flight from South Africa tomorrow (today). However, our son will be buried on Sunday. We have made an application as a family for him to be buried at Lady Stanley Cemetery and we will let you know,” said a dejected Mukundwa.
Regarding the post-mortem results, Mukundwa stated that they had yet to receive any details. Ndoro’s body was taken for a post-mortem examination on Tuesday.
The Ndoro family has since appealed for peace and privacy as they prepare for the funeral.
“We appreciate all the love and support as condolences, that have been extended to his family and all his loved ones thus far. He was a man of the people and loved soccer with all his heart. We honour his achievements and his legacy, and with your support, he catapulted to great heights.
“We kindly ask that you allow us time to prepare for his send-off and to heal. We kindly ask that you respect the family as they grieve at this time. All details for the memorial service will be duly communicated to everyone,” the family said in a statement.
