Music lovers were in for a treat on Friday as they got to witness five musical gentlemen -Taz4Africa, Tytan, Prayersoul, AdrianeTate, and Squash – all at once at the first edition of exciting music concert dubbed “The 8 O’clock Show” held at Alliance Francaise.

It resembled a Backstreet Boys concert where the musicians took turns to showcase their high-pitched vocals, coordinated cheesy choreography and often picking lucky ladies from the crowd to sing with them.

The five gentlemen certainly did not disappoint as they delivered a polished and well-rehearsed live band performance mostly filled with love songs that left their female fans getting into a frenzy.

They sang their own songs as well as cover versions including KC and Jojo’s famous “All My Life” which they certainly did justice to.

Taz, who had been quiet for some time, proved that he is still in the game, wowing the crowd with his hit “Idholo Phansi”.

“I have not been on stage in a while, so this return to the scene is quite exciting for me. The other artistes are excited as well and we have been working very hard behind the scenes to ensure the show is a success,” said Taz.

The “8 O’clock Show” will be bringing together five artistes and their different influences and types of music, mixing various genres such as soul, house and Afro-pop every Friday.

“This is the first of many in a series five-star group musical concerts. There will be different artistes from different genres at different venues so this is the beginning of an amazing journey,” added Taz.

The show is being organised by Artivism Zimbabwe in partnership with artistes and big corporates such as Brands Africa and Telco to create what is expected to be an amazing show of local talent.

One of the show organisers said the concert is meant to bring together some of the best Zimbabwean musicians on one stage.

“The 8 O’clock Show is a five-star musical concert featuring some of Zimbabwe’s finest musicians. The event in itself is sold as an experience that goes beyond just music and the performance will definitely leave you wanting more,” she said.
