FOLLOWING the successful launch of Mr Sinkwa and Mrs Sinkwa coupled by the overwhelming response received from the Bulawayo market, a new brand of bread —Dr Sinkwa has been introduced to the market. Dr Sinkwa is a health loaf created especially for people whose diets call for fibre as it contains whole grains. This pioneering product has been added after extensive research and consultations with all stakeholders. The reception both inside and outside Bulawayo has been outstanding.
After introducing Mr Sinkwa to the market in December 2023, the market demanded that he couldn’t be alone on the shelves, and we found him a partner — Mrs Sinkwa.
The whole idea behind Mrs Sinkwa is to use the product to advance our social corporate responsibility. For every loaf of bread bought, a certain percentage will be set aside to support cancer initiatives.”
The market went on and challenged us to produce a loaf that caters for consumers who demand something with grain and fibre to improve physical well-being.
“Our research team worked in the lab to create a loaf that satisfies people’s health demands, particularly those who suffer from diabetes. We are happy that the loaf is now available and has been received well by the market,” says Mr Ray Nthabeleng Makwaiba, Mr Sinkwa Sales Manager.
The three products are baked in Bulawayo on a toll manufacturing partnership with a leading bakery that boasts of the latest technology in the industry.
“We chose to use a bakery with world-class technological equipment for our premium products,” he said.
Toll manufacturing or tolling is outsourcing all the production or part of it to a third-party company where you provide all the raw materials or semi-finished products.
The work of the third-party company is to process the raw materials or semi-finished products to the required specifications.
The manufacturer receives a fee or toll agreed upon before the commencement of production. They are only responsible for the final product’s quality as far as the processing is concerned. The main reason for toll manufacturing is to utilise specialised equipment, labour and technology in the production process.
