TADIWANAISE Raymond Handikori is bubbling with confidence and says his musical career will take him places.
Affectionately known as The Drew, in musical circles, he is an Afro-pop musician.
“I started my musical journey back in 2018 with a single called ‘Ndiwe’.
“I was inspired by a fusion of Afro-pop genre by the likes of Trevor Dongo, Nyasha David and Mathole”.
The Drew has already performed in Uganda.
“A friend of mine who works in Uganda called Lenerd Mahachi likes my music and took me to Uganda.
“He made me collaborate with artists in Uganda for live performances and I stayed there for almost a month.”
Last year was the most successful musical year for The Drew.
He released two singles namely ‘Come Closer’ and ‘That is Love’.
“That is Love is making waves, especially on TikTok, fans are loving the song.
“Dj Tamuka has even suggested a collaboration with me after listening to that song.”
He said Matsai FM helped him a lot during his early days by offering him the platform for his songs to be heard by the fans.
The Drew stays in Turf in Mhondoro Ngezi where he is working on a new album and some singles to be released this year.
Next month, he will be releasing visuals for his trending song ‘That is Love’.
