ENTERPRENUER and photographer, Nyasha ‘The Female Photographer’ Gurure, believes her photography has become a powerful tool.
The Female Photographer, who is known in creative circles for her visual storytelling, said she is now using the same creative vision to motivate and empower young Zimbabweans through her digital platform, “ReadySet Crew”.
She is helping the local youths secure opportunities in the global cruise ship industry.In an interview with Zimpapers Gurure, who is also a systems administrator and digital strategist, said her success in technology and international career development began behind the camera.
“As a photographer, I don’t just capture images, I frame visions.
“I applied this same discipline to ReadySet Crew, stripping away the noise of the industry to create a clear, professional pathway.
“I treat the cruise industry as a stage and I help our youths see themselves as the lead characters.
“By curating a brand represented by that signature charcoal and gold, I ensure our candidates present themselves as high-value professionals, not just applicants.”
She said blending photography, digital systems and vocational training has created a platform that not only connects youths to jobs abroad but also transforms how they view themselves and their potential.
“In today’s cruise industry, visual storytelling is the new currency.
“Guests want immersive experiences and, whether in luxury retail or guest services, the ability to frame a moment or curate a narrative is invaluable.
“Beyond the art, photography teaches technical fluency, the same digital literacy needed to master shipboard systems.
“It turns a service provider into a brand ambassador, creating a versatile skillset that makes our youths indispensable to global cruise lines.”
She added:“To the young women of Zimbabwe, your perspective is your greatest asset, never feel you must choose between being creative or technical, I built my career by merging both.
“I remind my students that the cruise industry isn’t just a job, it is a gateway to massive business exposure and the financial stability needed to build your own empires back home.
“Use these international opportunities to sharpen your skills, then bring that expertise back to our own creative economy. Stay focused, maintain your standards and remember: you aren’t just looking for a job you are building a future.”
