The impossible is possible

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” — Luke 1:37

This message, resonating deeply in our hearts and spirits, is not merely for our ears.

Today, we delve into the boundless nature of God’s possibilities, beginning with the affirmation from Luke 1:37. When the angel conveyed these words to Mary, it was a proclamation of divine power. Mary, having just learned of her miraculous conception of the Son of God, was met with a seemingly impossible reality. Yet, the angel reassured her that with God nothing is unattainable.

We often confine our understanding of possibility based on our personal experiences, societal norms and the opinions of others.  However, God is not bound by such constraints.

He operates in a realm where miracles are common and the impossible becomes a reality. Consider Abraham, who believed he would become the father of many nations despite his advanced age. Moses, against overwhelming opposition from Pharaoh and his army, led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. Recall David, a young shepherd, confronted by the formidable Goliath, a seasoned warrior.

Armed only with a sling and five stones, David’s unwavering faith in God empowered him to defeat Goliath, demonstrating that faith can triumph over physical might and fear. Daniel, refusing to cease praying to God, was cast into a den of lions.

His unwavering faith shielded him and he emerged unharmed the following morning. The woman with the issue of blood suffered for 12 years and endured societal rejection.

Her faith compelled her to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, believing in its healing power. Her faith was rewarded and she was healed, showcasing the transformative power of belief in desperate circumstances.

We live in a society that often imposes limitations on us through its opinions.  Friends, family and even strangers may dictate what we can or cannot achieve.

However, we must be vigilant and not allow these voices to drown out the voice of God in our lives.

With the overwhelming biblical examples before us, we must not give undue weight to people’s opinions. Do not permit their opinions to determine your destiny. Remember, God has the ultimate authority!  When others proclaim what is impossible, we must remain steadfast in our faith. Their opinions are merely that — opinions.

They do not define our capabilities or our destinies. God’s truth is what shapes our reality. We need only have faith and believe that “with God nothing shall be impossible”. (Luke 1:37).

As we embrace this truth, we must cultivate extraordinary faith. Faith is not passive; it requires action.

When we genuinely believe that the impossible is possible with God, we step out in faith. We take risks, we pursue our dreams and we challenge the limitations that others have placed upon us.
