The second workday of the week is here, we should embrace it and seize it with a positive attitude in order to get the best out of it. Every accomplishment starts with a decision to try and no dreamer is ever too small, no dream is ever too big. Great television programmes create communities around them. Television shows, live events and news create conversation for friends, family and colleagues. Television productions bind people together and trigger reactions on social networks. By this we can safely say television inspires the mind as it broadens knowledge of different cultures, promotes tolerance and global understanding of international issues.
Of late nothing has been entertaining during the weekend on television.
Same old stuff and boring repeats. DSTV announced that some new channels are opening to all subscribers. Hopefully they have variety, not repeats. I am still conducting a survey on which are the most favourite programmes so that the debate on Access, Premium and Compact can be solved. But remember this is Zimbabwe and we are different from other countries, hence the rates and benefits among others.
Following the recent launch of three channels on October 15 on the Indian packages, MultiChoice Africa announced that it is giving all subscribers a free preview of the new channels from November 6-14 2015, in celebration of the Diwali Festival.
During this period, all DStv subscribers in Zimbabwe can look forward to a bright Festival of Lights with Star Hindi (DStv channel 453), Star Tamil (DStv channel 455) and Colors (DStv channel 456) which recently launched on DStv’s North and South Indian bouquets.
“We’ve offered all our customers a glimpse of the DStv Indian packages as part of the Diwali celebrations not only to thank our Indian subscribers for their loyal support over the years, but also to reward the rest of our subscribers with added entertainment from the three new additions to the DStv family,” said publicity and public relations manager for MultiChoice Zimbabwe Liz Dziva.
With a combination of fiction dramas, non-fiction and reality shows, blockbuster movies, and live events, India cast’s Colours channel has become the one-stop entertainment destination for viewers across the globe. With its presence in more than 135 countries, Colours has been providing quality entertainment avenues to the Indian diaspora scattered across the world. The general entertainment Hindi channel with English subtitles offers viewers great content like “The Anupam Kher Show”, “Krishna Malram”, “Meri Aashiqui Tum se Hi” and many more family favourites.
Viewers in Zimbabwe will also be treated to two new premium channels from Star Networks, Star Tamil and Star Hindi that recently launched on DStv South and North Indian packages, respectively. The channels will showcase flagship content rated number one in India and the UK and offer a stellar line-up of India’s best programming to viewers.
The channels showcase familiar programmes with an Indian flavour – “Master Chef India”, “Kitchen Superstar”, “Super Singer” and “Nach Baliye” which is the Indian “Strictly Come Dancing” – as well as excellent shows such as “Koffee with Karan” which is a celebrity talk show and “Mahabharat” which is a drama series based on Indian mythology.
To continue watching these exciting three channels after the open window ends, please contact MultiChoice to find out how to join the Indian packages. You can also visit www.dstv.com to find out what other exciting channels the packages have in store.
PS: Viewers can tune into Star Hindi (DStv channel 453), Star Tamil (DStv channel 455) and Colours (DStv channel 456) until November 14 at 10am.
