ZIMBABWEAN singer and Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Linda Mudzenda, has received an invitation to perform at King Charles III’s birthday celebrations in this country.

The event will take place on June 11 at the UK Embassy garden in Harare.

Although King Charles was born on November 14, 1948, the official celebration is held in June to ensure favourable weather conditions.

This timing aligns with the start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

Linda, who is currently in Zimbabwe, is thrilled about this opportunity, which she believes could lead to further prospects both in the UK and back home.

After her amazing performance on Britain’s Got Talent, she was approached by the UK Embassy in Zimbabwe. “I was thrilled to receive the invitation after they saw my audition. I couldn’t believe the chance to perform for King Charles III,” she told Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub.

Linda said she will perform the Zimbabwean and UK national anthems, her audition song “You Say,” and several other tracks. At just 21, she is focused on her musical career.

“I have a few tracks in the pipeline and can’t wait for everyone to hear them. I aim to maximise my time here, possibly shooting some music videos as well.”

Linda highlighted the significance of platforms like Britain’s Got Talent, which have showcased the talents of many celebrities.

“I learnt that dreams are achievable and hard work and consistency pay. Sometimes things don’t go your way, but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world.

“God has a way of opening doors when other doors are shut,” she noted.

She also hailed her strong support network. “I was humbled by the support I got from both Africa and the UK and from all over the world.”

While she chose not to reveal any major deals that may have come from her BGT appearance, she teased with the message:

“Watch this space!”
