Humility is the ability to control self. It is control and not a weakness. It is the ability to accept who you are without being boastful.
1 Peter 5:5-6
“5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” KJV
Pride Is Totally the Opposite of Humility.
The word of God says, God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Pride is normally seen when you start to compete with your leader and authorities or your senior; be it your teacher, mentor, manager or supervisor.
That already shows that you have become familiar with them. It makes you want to jump stages because you begin to be impatient because you become convinced that you deserve a better position.
Pride is of the devil and it came to Lucifer when he became familiar with the presence of God in Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28.
Isaiah 14:12-13
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:(KJV)
Pride Is Giving Credit to Yourself.
Proverbs 18:12
Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour [is] humility.(KJV)
In my years of ministry and as I have been dealing with people and learning different characters, I have come to learn that before a man falls, pride comes but, humility comes before honour.
Never try to promote yourself in the kingdom, you will get demoted.
Pride is not easy to notice; It is deceptive and operates with a cluster of demons. Henceforth, familiarity is the highest level of manifestation of pride.
