2 Kings 4:8-10
Now it happened one day that Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a notable woman, and she persuaded him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food. And she said to her husband, “Look now, I know that this is a holy man of God, who passes by us regularly. Please, let us make a small upper room on the wall; and let us put a bed for him there, and a table and a chair and a lampstand; so it will be, whenever he comes to us, he can turn in there.”(NKJV)
THIS woman was visited by a man of God, Prophet Elisha and she perceived that the man was an anointed servant of God. Therefore, she was quick to prepare a place for him to sleep and give him food. She knew that she was serving a representative of God. Because of that she received blessings that sustained her even through a drought and she also received a blessing of a child.
The Principle of Desire
A desire is strong feelings of wanting to have something happen. It prompts you to act, to work towards achieving that which you desire. Whatever you desire in the Lord is granted by your actions towards it as far as the precepts of God’s kingdom are concerned. There are a number of actions; such as sowing seed, prayer and fasting among many, that you ought to do in order to get the blessing of God. You attract what you desire. You will never receive from God or attract in the spirit that which you do not desire.
Psalm 27:4
One (thing) have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. (KJV)
The most important desire that is foundational is the desire for God. We ought to have a heart that has a desire for God like David.
