The River halted after ‘colleague’ tests positive for Covid-19

1Magic telenovela The River has had to stop production again after a colleague of the cast and crew recently tested positive for Covid-19.

Their production house, Tshedza Pictures, released a statement saying the cast and crew of the show have offered their empathy and support to their colleague.

“Ever since we resumed production on 1 May 2020, all the necessary lockdown health guidelines were implemented on set. After we received news of the colleague testing positive, we immediately asked the cast and crew that came into contact with the member to go into self-isolation.

They will soon avail themselves to health authorities for testing, in-line with government directives,” said Tshedza Pictures scriptwriter Phathu Makwarela.

The telenovela has also received support from director of M-Net local entertainment channels Nomsa Philiso.

“We have contacted the production team to assure them of our support. Now, more than ever, we need to show compassion to our fellow brothers and sisters, and we would like to wish the affected member of the production team a speedy recovery,” Philiso said.

It is unclear which member has tested positive but viewers of the show are sad about it having to go on a production break again. – News24
