Thief kills homeowner

A 58-year-old Kuwadzana man was killed by a suspected thief who had broken into his house on Monday.

Amos Pearson died following a fight with the suspect identified as Bigboy Majenje, who had

broken into his Kuwadzana 5 house.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “On August

11, 2025, police in Kuwadzana arrested Bigboy Majenje aged 42, in connection with a murder case in which he allegedly broke into a house in Kuwadzana 5.

“He was caught by the owner, Amos Pearson aged 58 and the two fought, resulting in Amos Pearson’s death.”

In another case, police in Mabelreign arrested Tinashe Turamai (27) in connection with a murder case in which he allegedly stabbed his wife, Marita Nyamunda (21), on the stomach and neck with a kitchen knife, accusing her of having an extramarital affair on August 11, 2025.
