Thief returns loot, says sorry

letter of apology and a £10 note. The regretful thief’s note read: “Very sorry 4 taking this. Was very drunk. £10 is for your inconvenience.”
Mr Ingram and his wife, both 54, decided not to call the police after the gadgets were taken from the vehicle while it was parked outside their home in Swanley, Kent.
They had been targeted by thieves before and believed the story would again end with them left empty-handed.
But a day after the crime, Mrs Ingram discovered a note written in a shaky hand on the van’s windscreen, saying the items were now in a bag at the side of the house.
She admitted that having the Sat Nav and radio returned has restored her “faith in humanity”.
“We have had this happen to us many times over the years but never before have they been returned,”  added Mrs Ingram, a primary school school liaison officer.
“It has restored my faith in humanity. I wasn’t quite sure I wanted to open the bag, which was down the side of the house. I was suspicious and thought it might go wrong. I couldn’t believe it was all still there.”
Both items were of some value to Mr Ingram, who used the Sat Nav to help him find jobs across the country and received the radio as a birthday present from his 25-year-old son Paul.
The guilty culprit even gave back an air freshener he had swiped in the heat of the moment, with a second note in clearer handwriting on the goods expressing his regret. — Daily Mail.
