POLICE in Zhombe, Kwekwe District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was allegedly beaten to death by a mob after he was caught stealing groceries from a shop.
The unidentified man was reportedly beaten by an angry mob on Sunday night and he later died from the wounds he sustained from the beating.
Police are now appealing to members of the public to help locate the relatives of the unidentified man whose body has since been taken to Kwekwe General Hospital Mortuary.
The incident occurred on Sunday around 1AM.
“Police in Kwekwe are appealing for information which may assist in the identification of the body of a male adult who was assaulted to death by a mob after he was allegedly found stealing groceries at a shop at Gwesela Complex, Zhombe,” said police via their official Twitter handle.
“The body is at Kwekwe General Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem. Anyone with information to contact any nearest Police Station,” appealed police.
