SOUTH African television icon Connie Ferguson says Zimbabwe is also her home and she is always swept away by the outpouring of love from Zimbabweans.
She has also praised the Miss Universe Zimbabwe pageant organisers for giving the women of Zimbabwe a platform to shine.
Ferguson, who was the guest of honour and guest judge at the Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2025 beauty pageant, said she was overwhelmed by the quality of women at this year’s edition.
It was her first time judging in Zimbabwe
“I would like to thank the organisers of this pageant for such a wonderful show. Most importantly, how they are giving women the platform to blossom, the opportunity to showcase their confidence and beauty,” she said.
“The girls gave us a torrid time not only because they are beautiful.
“They are all passionate, driven but, most importantly, they have a good heart.
“All of them just want to serve the good and best of Zimbabwe. Thank you for supporting them and let’s rally behind them. Yes, we have a winner, but they are all winners to me.”
Ferguson said she will continue coming back as this was also her home.
“Zimbabwean people are full of love and this is like home.”
The businesswoman said she grew up loving modelling and even competed in the “Black Like Me” beauty contest in South Africa after completing her education.
“I was born in Botswana and I grew up loving modelling,” she said.
She is best known for her role as Karabo Moroka on the popular South African soap opera “Generations”.
