MOSES CHUNGA is unfazed by rumours that his job as Harare City coach is on the line with some of his subordinates touted as potential replacements. Speaking after watching his team dismiss Border Strikers in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash at Rufaro, a seemingly at ease Chunga insisted he is “cool.” The Sunshine Boys mentor could afford a smile after second half strikes by Jerry Chipangura and Martin Vengesayi ensured that City returned to winning ways.

It was Harare City’s seventh win in a frustrating season and Chunga admits they are not playing their best football. “It is always good to win but we are inconsistent even in front of goal, we are goal shy, we could have won by a bigger margin. “But I will take the two-zero,” he said.

And on his job?

“I always want more and we are working on it, but you know (with) this job at Harare City, there are many players who are involved. “Even part of me, which is the coaching (department), they also want the job, there are rumors, but that’s why I am Bambo. “If I don’t live with rumors and pressure I can’t be Bambo,” said Chunga.

His Border Strikers counterpart Never Malunga believes they can still survive demotion. “The chances are still there, we just have work extra hard,” he said. “Our game plan never came right, we wanted to contain them but we didn’t concentrate enough to achieve that.

“It was a tight game, we were not stable and things didn’t go our way. We were punished for our mistakes but overally the game was 50-50. “We got our chances and didn’t use them, they got theirs and used them,” said Malunga.
