Legendary Zimbabwean musician Thomas Mapfumo has arrived in Zimbabwe, ending months of speculation over his much-anticipated return home.
The Chimurenga music icon touched down at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport to a wave of excitement from fans and fellow musicians, with his arrival already generating buzz across social media.
Mapfumo’s return comes at a significant time for the local music industry, as Zimbabwe continues to celebrate its musical heritage and legendary performers.
His journey home was confirmed through video footage shared by Youth Minister Tino Machakaire, who met the veteran musician on the flight.
Upon arrival, Mukanya was welcomed by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) boss George Manyaya and music promoter Josh Hozheri.
