WHILE it is now a case of “three bulls in one kraal” for their technical team, Hwange FC head coach Nation Dube has expressed happiness over his colleagues, Bongani Mafu and Try Ncube sitting on the club’s technical bench.
Mafu and Ncube, who have not been sitting on the Chipangano dugout during games because they did not have the Caf A badges, are fresh from their first Caf A Module A classes that were held in Tanzania last month.
The pair is reportedly set to go for the Caf A Module B lessons sometime in October and go for Module C and D classes next year.
Soon after completing their CAF A Module A lessons, Chipangano notified the Premier Soccer League (PSL) expressing their wish to have Mafu and Ncube on the bench alongside Dube.
By going to Tanzania, Mafu and Ncube joined Triangle United coach Thulani “Thuts” Sibanda who is doing the same course and got a waiver to be on his club’s technical bench.
It has since emerged PSL acceded to the miners’ request and it was no wonder to see Dube, Mafu and Ncube help each other in barking instructions when the coal miners took on Chicken Inn and Dynamos in their last two previous encounters.
“Having a technical team that is full of knowledge is something good to us because whenever we are doomed one of us can always come with another dimension on how to tackle the situation. I think this is a very important arrangement to us as a club. The three of us will always help each other,” said Dube soon after their hard-fought nil all draw against Dynamos who have since parted ways with their head coach Hebert “Jampano” Maruwa.
An impeccable source within the Hwange corridors revealed that Mafu, who was spotted on his feet for the greater part of their game barking instructions against DeMbare is now the club’s technical manager and Ncube is the third in command holding the position of assistant coach in an arrangement that will last throughout the season with Dube Number Two.
Meanwhile, Hwange trained at Crescent Sports Club yesterday morning after failing to travel back to the Colliery after their team bus developed a fault.
They travel to Gweru on Saturday to face troubled Caps United in the Chibuku Super Cup first round on Sunday.
Chipangano revealed that they have re-signed Pritchard Mpelele, who last played for Highlanders before his departure in January.
Hwange also confirmed the arrival of Raylton Maphosa and Lloyd Mutomba.
The trio was unveiled on Sunday just before their game against Dynamos.
Other new signings at Hwange include former CAPS United star Godwin Goriyati.
The club has also signed ex-Dynamos player Hamilton Gomba, while Quinton Longwe returned to the club. Longwe, who is son of ex-Hwange forward Marlvin, is a product of the Colliery outfit.
Gomba got his debut Chipangano appearance after he was introduced as a second half substitute for injured Kluivert Tshuma -@FungaiMuderere
