Three die, six injured in Mvurwi head-on collision between Toyota Dyna and Mazda Demio

Three people were killed while six others were injured when a Toyota Dyna was involved in a head-on collision with a Mazda Demio on Saturday night in Mvurwi.

The accident occurred at the 38km peg along the Mvurwi-Centenary Road near Maori turn off at around 8:15 pm.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the accident.

“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on September 20, 2025, at around 8:15 pm at the 38-kilometre peg along Mvurwi –Centenary Road near Maori Turn Off, Mvurwi,” he said.

“Three people were killed while six others were injured when a Toyota Dyna vehicle with seven passengers on board was involved in a head-on collision with a Mazda Demio vehicle carrying six passengers.

“The bodies of the victims were taken to Mvurwi Hospital mortuary for postmortem, whilst the injured were admitted at Concession Hospital.”
