Three people were killed while 19 others were injured when a Toyota Hiace commuter omnibus was involved in a head-on collision with a Mercedes-Benz Atego truck along Glen Eagles Road in Harare.
The accident occurred on Wednesday at around 5.30pm.
In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on September 23 at around 1730 hours along Glen Eagles Road near First Class Bus Garage, Harare. Three people were killed while 19 others were injured when a Toyota Hiace kombi carrying 20 passengers was involved in a head on collision with a Mercedes Benz Atego truck with three passengers on board.
” The bodies of the victims were taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital mortuary for post-mortem, while the injured victims were admitted at the same hospital,” he said.
