POLICE have launched a manhunt for three suspects who allegedly killed a man after he attempted to restrain them from assaulting a colleague during a beer binge in Kwekwe last Friday.
Misheck Makuvaza (25) died after being admitted to Kwekwe General Hospital from injuries sustained when he was stabbed on the left thigh by one of the three suspects.
The suspects have been identified as Dunmore Mhosva, Dingani Bhamala and Shelton Mapolisa who are all still at large.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“The ZRP is investigating a murder case which occurred at Big Boom Mine, Kwekwe, on August 26, 2022, where Misheck Makuvaza aged 25 was assaulted by three suspects only known as Dunmore Mhosva, Dingani Bhamala and Shelton Mapolisa, after he tried to restrain the suspects from assaulting Isaac Simango aged 42 at a beer binge.
“One of the suspects drew a knife from his pockets and stabbed the victim once on the left thigh.
“The victim was taken to Kwekwe General Hospital, where he died on August 27, 2022 while admitted,” he said.
During the past few months, murder and suicide cases emanating from disputes linked been on increase countrywide.
Police are on record urging people to engage third parties, elders, counsellors and their officers, to help resolve their differences.
