LOS ANGELES. – Tiger Woods has confirmed that he has completed an intensive treatment programme to help him manage his medication.

The treatment follows the golfer’s arrest in May on a DUI charge after he was found asleep at the wheel in Jupiter, Florida, around 2am on May 29. Woods told police he was taking various prescriptions. No alcohol was found in his system.

The former world No.1 revealed following the incident that he was receiving “professional help” in a bid to manage his reliance on prescription drugs following “an unexpected reaction to prescribed medication”.

And Woods provided an update on his status on Monday, posting a a message on Twitter which read: “I recently completed an out of state private intensive programme.

“I will continue to tackle this going forward with my doctors, family and friends. “I am so very thankful for all of the support I’ve received.”

The 41-year-old, who is recuperating following a fourth back operation in the past three years, had previously said that he was receiving professional help to manage “the ways that I deal with my pain and a sleep disorder.” – AFP.
