May 27 at Borrowdale Race Course in Harare at a concert likely to leave lasting impressions.
The gig by the five artistes comes hard on the heels of a tour of the country by Sean Kingston, although he failed to live up to his billing by singing to back tracks.
However, the artistes are yet to be cleared by the country’s arts regulatory body, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe.
“They are yet to be cleared, although the promoters of the show have since submitted their papers to us for clearance of live performances by these artistes.
“In the case of a foreign promoter who wants to do business in Zimbabwe, they should strike a partnership with a local promoter here,” said Donald Chidoori, an official from the NACZ.
It is, however, the performance by these artistes on the same show that is likely to leave lasting impressions considering that it will be a package by different artistes whose styles are unique.
The performance by the stars will mark the first anniversary by a South African entertainment company called Zar Empire, which also has business interests in Zimbabwe.
The firm will also be launching their online product.
Timbaland, who has a large following in Zimbabwe, is expected to headline the event.
He has won a number of awards and his tour of the country is likely to be a major boost for local tourism as this will further portray it as one of the safest destinations in Africa.
Lil Kim also commands a large following not only her country but also in this part of the world.
