Radio and television personality Tinopona Katsande of Impeccable Events has organised a one-day radio presentation workshop scheduled for June 14 at Lake Chivero’s Creative Lodge.
The workshop will be running under the theme: “I Am” and is meant to encourage talented young people who lack self esteem to showcase their talents.
Tinopona aka Tin Tin said similar workshops would be held throughout Zimbabwe.
“This is one of our youth initiatives meant to bring out the hidden talent in young people.
“This workshop will be one of many that will be conducted by Impeccable Events.
“We will go province by province in a bid to better radio programming and presentation in Zimbabwe,” she said.
The countrywide workshops will also incorporate community radio stations.
The initiative came about in preparation for the licensing of community radio stations throughout Zimbabwe.
Over the past years most people with a passion for radio were being left out as the few radio stations could only take a certain number of presenters.
Minister of Youth, Indegenisation and Economic Empowerment Francis Nhema is slotted to be the guest of honour.
Also expected to attend the workshops are local and international radio personalities that include Delani Makhalima and Davies Mugadza.
“I am looking forward to meeting the aspiring radio presenters at the one-day radio presentation workshop, because a lot of people think radio is all about playing music.
“Radio presenting is an art and it is not something you can take lightly like the public think, so we will be clearly showing what radio is all about,” Mugadza said.
Impeccable Events will also facilitate free demo recording to individuals that would have done well during the workshop who will also stand a chance to present live shows.
