Tinashe’s star shines brighter

United States-bred R’n’B singer Tinashe Kachingwe’s star continues to shine as the 21-year-old features on rapper Kid Ink’s song “Body Language” together with heavyweight singer Usher Raymond.

The song that was released on September 9 as the lead single from Kid Ink’s upcoming third 2015 studio album.

Its hook is done by Usher and background vocals by Tinashe who also dazzles in the music video that followed up over a month later.

Tinashe rocks in two latex outfits that define her curvy figure in the video that was released on Vevo on October 28.

She has been celebrated locally over the months with her hit song “2On” enjoying massive rotation on radio and television.

As her star continues to ascend, it is clear video channel Trace was right when they named Tinashe as one of the artistes to look out for in 2014 on New Year’s Eve.

While her most notable single “2 On” put her in the limelight worldwide, Tinashe is no new comer in Hollywood’s showbiz.

She has had a stint in acting through films like 2000’s “Cora Unashamed”, “The Popular Express” with Tom Hanks and a recurring role in “Two and a Half Men”.

Born in Kentucky, Tinashe credits her father’s Zimbabwean roots for influencing her love for music.

On her official Facebook page, she says music runs in her DNA, thanks to the musical Zimbabwean culture.

Tinashe is currently riding on the success of her debut album “Aquarius” that was released on October 7

She also has a mix tape from 2012 called “In Case We Die” that did a lot in raising her profile.

She also released two other mixtapes “Reverie” (2012) and “Black Water” (2013) while working on “Aquarius” which debuted at number 17 on the US Billboard 200, selling 18 821 copies in its first week.

Upon its release, “Aquarius” received critical acclaim from music critics, who commended its production, lyrics and themes, with reviewers describing the album as an “innovative one-of-a-kind sound” and comparing it to the work of Janet Jackson.
