THE Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League title race takes centre stage tomorrow with Hwange sitting pretty at the top, but the Colliery Boys will have to watch from the sidelines as their rivals battle to close the gap.
Hwange reclaimed pole position last weekend after beating Megawatt 2-0 at Chakona, while Talen Vision’s 5-3 defeat to Bulawayo Warriors at Chiefs Village opened the door for the Colliery Boys.
And with Hwange’s scheduled clash with Mosi Rovers cancelled, all eyes will now turn to Talen Vision and the chasing pack.
Talen Vision face a potentially tricky trip to Khami United tomorrow, with the championship contenders knowing that another dropped point could hand further breathing space to the leaders.
The match at Khami is therefore one of the weekend’s biggest attractions, with Talen looking to respond immediately after their Warriors setback.
There is another intriguing battle at Chiefs Village where Zimbabwe Saints play host to Bulawayo Warriors.
Warriors enter the contest buoyed by their eye-catching victory over Talen Vision, while Saints will be determined to spoil their momentum.
At Mthwakazi, Jordan entertain Bosso90 in a clash that could provide another fascinating chapter in the increasingly competitive race for the title.
Meanwhile, Megawatt return to Chakona, where they will be hoping to put their defeat to Hwange behind them when they entertain Nkayi United.
The lunchtime action comes at White City, where Aqua Stars face Zebra Revolution, while Imbizo welcome Casmyn to Lookout Masuku Barracks.
Sunday brings another set of games, with Njube Spurs taking on Blackrock at White City before VF Herentals take on Bulawayo City at Chinotimba.
For Hwange, the weekend offers something different — a chance to sit back and watch.
But there is danger in watching from the summit.
