TN CyberTech Bank plans to deepen partnerships with digital remittance providers to enhance cross-border money transfer services and accelerate its digital transformation strategy.

The initiative will allow customers to receive diaspora remittances through faster, more convenient and cost-effective digital channels, as demand for seamless international money transfers continues to grow.

This comes at a time when remittances remain a critical source of foreign currency inflows into Zimbabwe, supporting household consumption and business activity.

Currently, the bank offers a range of remittance services through established global and regional partners.

These include RIA Money Transfer, which facilitates both US dollar cash payouts and direct transfers into customer accounts and Western Union, where the bank acts as an agent providing nationwide disbursement through its branch network.

In addition, the bank has integrated with EcoCash’s US dollar wallet platform, enabling direct-to-mobile wallet transfers from the diaspora, while Shoprite Money Transfer provides a low-cost corridor for funds sent from South Africa, charging an estimated four percent transaction fee.

“The bank plans to establish partnerships with digital remittance providers, enabling customers to receive remittances through digital channels that are faster, more convenient and more cost effective than traditional methods.

“These initiatives are expected to improve customer experience, lower the cost of customer acquisition and enhance the bank’s operational efficiency,” said TN CyberTech Bank chairman Mr James Mushore.

He said the move is part of the bank’s “hyperintegration” strategy, a model designed to unify systems, data, processes and customer interactions into a single digital ecosystem.

According to TN CyberTech Bank, hyperintegration goes beyond conventional information technology integration as it will link people, platforms, analytics and operational processes in real time, allowing for faster decision-making, automation of complex workflows and improved service delivery.

The strategy is expected to play a central role in growing the bank’s customer base, while enhancing shareholder value through improved operational efficiencies and diversified income streams.

TN CyberTech Bank said that the hyperintegration framework will target individual customers and also extend to corporates and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs).

According to TN CyberTech Investments Holdings group chief executive officer Mr Tawanda Nyambirai the bank plans to introduce blended financial solutions tailored to the evolving needs of businesses, combining payments, lending and digital financial services within a unified platform.

“The bank will continue to pursue its hyperintegration strategy, which seeks to grow its customer base, unlock new revenue streams and enhance shareholder value.

“This strategy will leverage partnerships across the local and global ecosystem including fintechs, mobile money providers and payment aggregators. “Hyperintegration will also extend to corporates and SMEs, as the bank develops blended financial solutions tailored to the evolving needs of Zimbabwean businesses and consumers,” said Mr Nyambirai.

This comes as the bank is investing in expanding its customer touchpoints through planned rollout of Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) and automated teller machines (ATMs) across the country, a position that is aimed at improving accessibility and reduction of reliance on traditional brick-and-mortar branches.

TN CyberTech highlighted that these initiatives are expected to significantly enhance customer experience, lower the cost of customer acquisition and improve overall operational efficiency.

The shift towards digital remittance channels and integrated financial ecosystems reflects new trends in the banking sector, where institutions are increasingly leveraging technology to remain competitive, improve service delivery and capture new market segments in an evolving financial landscape.
