TN Lifestyle Holdings workers and retrenchees yesterday staged a protest against the company’s management over non-payment of wages and benefits dating back to November last year.
The workers demonstrated at the company’s premises in Southerton before riot police dispersed them. Managers had to flee from the angry protesters.

Workers committee representative Mr Tichaona Karombe told The Herald that workers were languishing in poverty as the company was failing to pay them.

“We are hunger-stricken, our children are not going to school, we do not have enough clothing and most of us are now homeless because they have no money to pay rentals,” he said.

In May this year, the workers appealed to Parliament to intervene in the labour dispute.

TN Harlequin Luxaire human resource manager Mr Samson Pasipanodya said his company had failed to pay the workers due to liquidity constraints.
