Togolese President Mr Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe is set to open the 57th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair to be held from April 26 to 30 in Bulawayo, while Vice President Emmerson Munangagwa will open the ZITF international business conference.

Addressing journalists in Harare yesterday, Industry and Commerce Minister Mike Bimha, lauded ZITF for rallying behind Government’s efforts to revive the economy through implementation of Zim-Asset.

“The trade fair will be held under the theme ‘Innovate, Integrate and Industrialise’.

“The theme fits the purpose because it recognises that the only way to grow the Zimbabwean economy is to improve the competitiveness of locally produced products through industrialising the manufacturing sector,” said Mr Bimha.

The guest of honour for this year’s trade fair, Mr Bimha said, would be Togolese President, Mr Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe, while Vice President Mr Emmerson Munangagwa will open the ZITF international business conference.

He expressed satisfaction with foreign participation at this year’s fair, which he described as encouraging with 32 companies having booked so far, which is 45 percent more compared to last year.
