Top musicians in gender based violence show

Musicians Olivia Charamba, Alexio Kawara and Cynthia Mare are set to headline a show on Gender Based Violence today at Hypercube hub in Belgravia in the capital.

Dubbed “Speak out against Gender Based Violence in your Community” the top musicians are set to share the stage with other upcoming gospel artists including Brian Pazvakavambwa.

In an interview with the Herald Entertainment, the musicians who are also Gender Based Violence ambassadors promised an educative and entertainment show.

Mai Charamba said since it is an acoustic night they will be playing an acoustic guitar and playing the music that preaches against gender-based violence.

“We have some selected songs that we are going to play with the aim of conveying the message of gender-based violence effects and also encouraging people to come in their numbers to support this noble initiative,’ she said.

Alexio through his manager also promised the best performance. “The main motive of this show is to encourage people to speak out against gender-based violence so that they will get help in time. Basically the show is an edutainment one that is meant to educate in the form of entertainment,” he said.

Upcoming gospel artiste Pazvakavambwa said he will take the opportunity to show what he is made of.

“I am very happy to be sharing stage with some of the country’s big names on the entertainment scene and I am going to take this opportunity to showcase my talent,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Acoustic Gospel Show event director Mbonisi Tshuma said they are working in conjunction with World Education Incorporated and they are looking forward to a successful show.

“We normally hold these acoustic gospel shows once a month with different themes, last month the theme was ‘When arts meet music’ and we had visual artists and musicians. This time around the musicians are to give a voice on gender based violence. We want them to encourage people to open up and speak out. This is why we are working with the Word Education Incorporated Ambassadors for Gender Based Violence,” he said.
