Tough tie for Bulls

Blue Ribbon in the Mbada Diamonds Cup quarter-finals at Torwood on Sunday.
The Mighty Bulls, who had had a good start in defence of their Premiership crown and won the fourth edition of the BancABC Sup8r title along the way, seem to have lost steam recently.
Motor Action have not won a match in nearly two months and have dropped from the summit to third in the league race.

Although their league title chances seem to be diminishing, Motor Action can draw comfort from the fact that they still have a good chance in the Mbada Diamonds Cup.
The responsibility for success has been placed squarely on the shoulders of David George and Prince Matore, who are taking charge in the absence of Joey Antipas, currently on a three-week attachment with European clubs Randers (Denmark) and Hamburg (Germany).

George yesterday said the Mighty Bulls were aware of the challenge posed by Blue Ribbon who beat them 1-0 recently in a league match.
Motor Action are also seeking to put behind them the disappointment they suffered at Maglas last week when they were held to a 0-0 draw against Shabanie Mine.
“Blue Ribbon are not easy opponents,” said George. “They beat us in a league game recently and this time around we have to be better prepared.

“It’s not about revenge but we always play every game to win. What is needed is to go out there with a fresh mind and do our best.”
George revealed the Mighty Bulls have all their players in good shape and are desperate for a change of fortunes following a rough ride.
Motor Action beat Monomotapa 2-1 in the first round of the Mbada Cup.

Blue Ribbon, who are playing their first season in the top-flight, got off to a flying start in the tournament after walloping Shabanie Mine 4-0 at Ascot.
They come into the match on the back of two victories over Motor Action and Zimbabwe Saints and will be hoping to continue their good form. The winners between Motor Action and Blue Ribbon will proceed to a tricky semi-final against either Zimbabwe Saints or Kiglon, who clash at Chishamiso in Hippo Valley tomorrow.

“We cannot be the favourites because this quarter-final already has good teams that are all capable of winning it,” said George.
An exciting duel is expected at the Colliery when Gunners and log leaders FC Platinum meet for the second time in seven days.

FC Platinum, who suffered back-to-back defeats to Gunners in the league race this season, will be looking to turn the tables after going down 2-1 in a quality match at Lafarge last Saturday. Relegation fighters Shooting Stars will cross swords with Dynamos at Maglas on Sunday.

Fixtures
Saturday: Zimbabwe Saints v Kiglon (Chishamiso), FC Platinum v Gunners (Colliery).
Sunday: Motor Action v Blue Ribbon (Torwood), Dynamos v Shooting Stars (Maglas).
