Toy boy in court for assault

A BULAWAYO man from Nketa 7 claims  evil spirits are behind his “God-given” girlfriend’s decision to drag him to court for abuse.
Edmore Zhanda, 32, appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Tancy Dube charged with physical abuse of his girlfriend who is six years older than him.

Prosecuting, Sibekithemba Dube said Zhanda and Samkele Fuzane, 38, have been co-habiting for some time.

The court heard that on June 5 at around 6AM, Fuzane told Zhanda that she was no longer interested in their relationship and ordered him to leave her house.

The man has been relying on Fuzane for accommodation and money. Zhanda assaulted her with open hands and fists for dumping him.
Zhanda told the court:

“This woman was given to me by God. I have never laid hands on her or had a misunderstanding hence nothing will separate us. Demons are causing her to bring me to court but they will not prosper. She is there to take care of me financially,” said Zhanda.

Fuzane told the court that Zhanda was pretending to be a holy person in court but outside he is an animal who only wanted to depend on her for his upkeep.

“This man is pretending to be a man of God but I know his true colours.  He can even chop me with an axe if he gets angry. Don’t listen to his preaching because he is pretending.

“He wants me to take care of him financially and he wants a place to stay that is why he is still with me,” she said.

Zhanda prayed in court when magistrate Dube withdrew his case saying there is no sufficient evidence such as a medical report to prove that Fuzane was assaulted.
