it – Toyota Zimbabwe
FOR a third year in a row, Toyota Zimbabwe is proud to be the sponsor of the Challenge Rally, marking the third and last year of our triple commitment to this prestigious event.
We hope that our involvement in this rally has helped increase the impact of the event, not only on the motorsport community but also on the Zimbabwean community at large and further afield, too, especially where motorsport fans take note of what is happening.
It is an international masterpiece that showcases Zimbabwean motorsport in particular and Zimbabwe in general to the whole African continent.
This event is not called the Challenge for nothing.
In a technical and sporting sense, it must be a challenge to the skills of drivers, co-drivers, teams, officials and anyone involved in any way.
This happens through a unique blend of imagination, innovation and professional input by the organisers, especially the route developers.
As I have said before, hosting the event continues to be something of a challenge in itself, even though many of the nightmarish economic conditions of the past few years have either disappeared or been relieved.
But this year as before the team of organisers have showed commendable spirit, determination and courage to present yet another exciting and rewarding Toyota Zimbabwe Challenge Rally.
As a distributor and provider of top quality Toyota vehicles, parts and service, with a determination to do things right the first time every time and to achieve exceptional results consistently, I and my team within Toyota Zimbabwe are delighted to be associated with the thoroughness of the team involved.
Although we, like other business organisations in this country, have been faced with our own unique set of problems we are delighted to be able to present to Zimbabwe and to Africa this year’s Challenge Rally.
We are also pleased to be working alongside our fellow sponsors and I thank them for their involvement this year.
The 49th year of the Challenge – which sees its 40th running – is a renewed commitment from everyone involved to sustain and maintain this event as a showpiece, not only for Zimbabwe but for all of Africa.
It is my sincere hope that everyone involved, whether competitors, organisers or spectators, will enjoy this event and that everyone gains considerable entertainment, enjoyment, pleasure and fun from it.
