Tragedy: Twins burnt beyond recognition in house fire

A set of twin sisters was on Wednesday night burnt to death, leaving them unrecognizable after an inferno gutted a cottage, they were sleeping in.

The fire occurred after an explosion occurred at the residence. The nature and cause of the explosion are yet to be established.

The two have been identified as Everjoy and Sandra Chapasuka both aged 30.

The incident occurred in Impala extension suburb in Beitbridge.

Police confirmed the incident, saying investigations were in progress.

“The ZRP is investigating circumstances surrounding a fire incident which occurred on 08/03/23 at around 0045 am at Impala Extension suburb, Beitbridge where twin sisters, Everjoy Chapasuka (30) and Sandra Chapasuka (30) were burnt beyond recognition when the cottage they were sleeping in caught fire following an explosion which was allegedly heard by neighbours,” said police through their Twitter page.
