Tragic incident: four children suffocate inside parked vehicle in Harare

FOUR children died after suffocating inside a parked Toyota Chaser vehicle after the rear passenger door locked them inside between 12 pm and 7 pm on 15 February.

The vehicle was parked at a house in Hopely Zone 1, Harare.

In a statement, National Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “Police confirm a sad incident in which Allen Busiri (3), Anotidaishe Mutize (4), Ashley Matowe (3) and Kudzaishe Tsuro (3) died on 15 February 2024.”

“The victims suffocated while in the vehicle. Their bodies were found lying lifeless in the motor vehicle at 1900 hours”, said Assist. Commissioner Nyathi.
