Joshua Mhuriyengwe (44) of 1057 Off-Fraser Road, Parktown and Clifford Sanyika (38) of GB21 Samuriwo Rugare, Kambuzuma in Hara-re appeared before Beitbridge Resident Magistrate Miss Gloria Takundwa on Wednesday.
The duo are facing charges of using vehicles fitted with blue beacon lights that are not for the police or national army or has been authorised by the President.
The drivers were recently remanded out of custody after paying US$100 bail each.
They were ordered to reside at their given addresses and not to interfere with State witnesses until the matter is finalised.
Prosecutor Mr Jabulani Mberesi alleged that the drivers passed through Beitbridge Border Post driving two Toyota Prados with registration numbers, ABH1733 and ABH1734 respectively to South Africa.
While there, he said, the drivers had their cars fitted with blue beacon lights and siren systems.
The duo returned to Zimbabwe through the border post en-route to Harare after two days.
Mr Mberesi said the two were stopped for a routine search by security agents manning the border post resulting in the discovery of the blue beacon lights connected to cigarette lighters concealed under the rear seat foot rests.
The drivers however, failed to produce authorisation papers for the fittings resulting in their arrest.
The beacons were in turn recovered.
