The early goal calmed the nerves of the Lowveld side while How Mine, who beat Dynamos 1-0 last week, were made to chase the game from behind right form kick-off.
How Mine’s industry was rewarded just before the break when they equalised but Triangle restored their lead in the second half through Tawanda Muyendi’s header.
After taking the lead, Triangle even had the luxury of missing a penalty when David Sengu failed to convert after Courage Denias had been hacked down in the box.
Last week, Sengu’s effort from the penalty kick had given his side three points against Black Mambas at Morris Depot.
Gishon Ntini, the Triangle coach, yesterday said his team should remain focused because they are not yet clear of the relegation zone.
“It’s good that we have been picking up points in the past games. This is a purple patch for us but we should remain focused.
“We have been criticised before but now the gods now are smiling at us,” he said.
Triangle are now among the top eight clubs on the log but Ntini has challenged his troops to work even harder.
“There is danger for us if we relax. We still need to get more points because we are not yet safe from relegation,” said Ntini.
Triangle will face Buffaloes at Sakubva in their next league match while How Mine play Chicken Inn in a Bulawayo derby.
