TRIANGLE striker Misheck Mburayi, who led his team as they destroyed Monomotapa to register their biggest win this season, is the in-form forward of the moment in the domestic Premiership. Yesterday at Gwanzura, he took his tally to five goals in four league matches since joining the Lowveld team during the transfer window.
The newboys ran riot against a poor Monomotapa who just met before the game without training.
The Harare side haven’t trained since a goalless draw against Dynamos at Rufaro a week ago.
The former Motor Action man scored four goals for the Mighty Bulls in the first half of the season.
Mburayi now has nine goals and is catching up with a host of players who scored earlier in the Premiership but have since gone quiet.
Chicken Inn’s Tendai Ndoro is leading the scoring charts with 12 goals.
Yesterday, Mburayi grabbed a brace in the 39th and 85th minute.
Pascal Manhanga was also on target in the 53th minute while substitute Lameck Nhamo got the fourth goal in the 90th minute.
“At least my performance is rising as I couldn’t do much at Motor Action under the difficult circumstances where we had financial problems,” said Mburayi.
“But now I am focused on playing football.
“I feel good that I scored two goals today. It is my job to score.”
The striker first found the target when he headed home a ball flighted from a corner by Norman Togara.
Midfielder Manhanga then extended the lead when he lobbed the ball home over Monoz goalkeeper Tapiwa Zvaita.
With five minutes to go, Mburayi, got to the end of a pass from Limited Chikafa and fired home his second.
But Triangle, who are good travellers were not finished, as striker Nhamo grabbed his goal after having risen from the bench.
Triangle coach Gishon Ntini said his only concern right now was that they were struggling to win at home.
“It is good to win with such a big score line. They worked very hard today. We are not supposed to continue winning away from home without doing the same at home.
“But the problem is the mentality of some people who have seen the team staying too long in Division One and don’t know how to appreciate what we have done.
“Misheck was a great buy, even Norman (Togara) is also playing well. The only unfortunate player is Walter Mukanda who came in from Chicken Inn and is having problems with an injury.” Monomotapa assistant coach Conrad Nyambabvu said their defeat was a result of issues haunting their camp off the pitch.
“There are situations beyond our control. But the club officials have organised something, so we are hopeful that in the coming weeks things will be back to normal and we should start collecting points.
“We never trained, we met here today before the game. Since the Dynamos match we have never trained because the players were not coming and only the coaches were coming and there was no one to train,’ said Nyambabvu.
