THREE men from Fort Rixon, Matabeleland South Province, have been brought before the court for assaulting a fellow villager with a baton and fists several times all over the body.

Nqobani Moyo, Khulekani Masukume and Michael Nyoni appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Challenge Mahambe facing a charge of assault.

They all pleaded guilty and were remanded to Wednesday for sentencing.

The court heard that on 8 April 2024, at around 6am, the trio ganged up and went to Anele Msipha’s house where they found him sleeping.

Moyo then forced entry into the bedroom by kicking down the door. He confronted Msipha, accusing him of being a bully, and proceeded to strike him repeatedly in the face with his fists.

Msipha attempted to defend himself, but his efforts were unsuccessful. Masukume and Nyoni joined the assault, delivering multiple punches to the victim.

As if the thrashing was not enough, Moyo took out a baton and used it to beat  the victim on the buttocks, legs and back.

The trio fled the scene and the matter was reported to the police leading to their arrest.
