JOY and anxiety have hit the home of a New Magwegwe couple after they welcomed triplets at Mpilo Central Hospital, taking their brood to eight.
Oliver Tigoni (51) and his wife Tenicca Mudend a (36) are over the moon about their three new bundles of joy, but the blessing has come with sleepless nights and heavy financial strain.
Speaking from their humble home, Tigoni said while the safe delivery of the triplets filled them with gratitude, reality struck soon after.
“I am thankful to God for blessing us with triplets at my age, but it comes with great responsibility,” he said.
With mouths multiplying faster than money, the couple is appealing to well-wishers for help with baby clothes, food, and other essentials.
“We are struggling to provide for our family and kindly ask for any help that people can offer, even a job so I can support my family,” pleaded Tigoni.
The family says their small home is bursting at the seams, with barely enough space or resources to cater for their growing household.
As they cradle their newborns, the Tigonis remain hopeful that the kindness of fellow Zimbabweans will pull them through the storm.
