God’s desire is not only to bring us into a new season, but also to help us fully possess everything He has promised.
Many people focus on the journey of getting to the promise, but God is equally concerned about what happens after we arrive.
It is possible to cross over into a new season and yet fail to experience its fullness because we stop believing, stop growing or stop obeying.
The children of Israel had finally entered the Promised Land. The wilderness season was behind them and the years of wandering had come to an end.
They had witnessed God’s power at the Jordan River and seen Him give them victory over their enemies. Now Joshua stands before the people and makes a remarkable declaration: “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; everyone was fulfilled.”
What a testimony of God’s faithfulness! Joshua did not say some promises were fulfilled or most promises were fulfilled.
He declared that every promise God made came to pass.
This reveals something important about the character of God.
People may fail us.
Circumstances may change.
Human plans may collapse.
But God’s Word never fails.
When God gives a promise, He commits Himself to bringing it to fulfilment in His perfect way and in His perfect time.
God’s promises are not an invitation to passivity; they are an invitation to partnership.
Faith requires action.
Obedience positions us to experience what God has prepared.
Many believers stop too soon.
They pray for a breakthrough and then become discouraged when challenges arise.
They enter a new season, but settle for less than God’s best.
They receive a promise, but allow fear, doubt or disappointment to prevent them from fully embracing it. Yet God does not want His people to live on the edge of the promise. He wants them to enjoy the fullness of what He has provided.
God’s faithfulness extends beyond beginnings.
He is not only the God who opens doors; He is the God who sustains us after we walk through them. He is not only the God who gives promises; He is the God who fulfils them.
What He starts, He completes. What He initiates, He finishes.
What He promises, He performs.
Perhaps there are promises you have been holding onto for years.
Maybe there are prayers that seem unanswered or dreams that appear delayed.
Let Joshua’s testimony encourage your heart today.
The God who remembered Israel has not forgotten you.
The God who fulfilled His Word to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and Joshua is the same God who is at work in your life today.
His faithfulness has not changed.
As September comes to an end, the message remains clear.
The hour has come. Leave the old season behind. Cross over by faith. Trust God in the transition. And now, possess the promises He has prepared for you.
Refuse to settle for less than God’s purpose for your life.
Walk boldly in faith, knowing that your future is not determined by your circumstances but by the faithfulness of God.
Today, choose to believe that what God has spoken over your life will come to pass.
Stand firmly on His Word. Continue in obedience.
Remain faithful in prayer. And with confidence declare, “Not one of the Lord’s promises will fail, for He who promised is faithful.”
Closing prayer: Heavenly Father, as we step forward into this new season, give us the courage to possess everything You have prepared for us. Remove every spirit of fear, doubt and discouragement.
Let us walk confidently in Your promises and experience the fullness of Your blessing.
May our lives testify to Your goodness, Your power and Your faithfulness. We declare that what You have begun in us, You will bring to completion.
