TRY Ncube, the Harare City coach, expects a tough match against relegation-haunted Rangers in their MCM Estates Northern Region Division One Soccer League match at Callies today.
Rangers are enduring a nightmare season and are currently third from bottom.
The Chinhoyi-based side have collected only 25 points from the same number of games.
Earlier this month, they failed to fulfil a fixture, citing financial challenges.
Today, Rangers face a Harare City side who have made their intentions clear this season.
The club are pushing for the championship title.
“There are no easy games. The opponent is fighting for their lives and will obviously give their all,” Ncube said.
“We desperately want to win this game so that we maintain the momentum and cover the gap.
“We are expecting a tough game.”
He added:
“I remain hopeful of getting a positive result, especially when we are playing in front of our fans.
“We have passionate supporters who always urge us to soldier on even when the chips are down.”
Harare City are currently four points behind Black Rhinos.
A win will keep them firmly in the title race.
Black Rhinos, on 49 points, are away to Shamva.
The army side are one of the most consistent teams in the league, having lost only twice so far.
They face a Shamva team brimming with confidence after a 1-0 win over Karoi over the weekend.
At Gwanzura, Highrange will take on Golden Eagles in a mid-table clash.
Cranborne Bullets host PAM at Commando Barracks, while Chegutu Pirates clash with G&T at Pfupajena in a derby.
Black Mamba have a difficult assignment away to Banket United, while Jumbo Giants and Batanai meet at Jumbo Mine.
Bottom-of-the-table Marare face a tough test against Ngezi Under-19.
