Dendera musician Tryson Chimbetu says the upcoming show featuring three musicians from Chimbetu family will strengthen their professional relations in the industry.
Tryson said although the musicians are related, there is need for joint shows to promote professional ties away from family relations. Tryson will share the stage with Allan and Douglas Chimbetu at The Eland bar at Kuwadzana 6 shopping centre on July 29.
Tryson said it was good that they were coming together for next Saturday’s show to show fans that they are united as a family and also share professional experiences.
“It is good to come together as musicians from one family. I have worked well with uncle Allan and Douggy. We are one family and we also need to strengthen our professional ties. This is a good opportunity for us to express our versatility on one stage. We will show people the other side of our professional relationship,” said Tryson.
Orgnaisers of the show are looking forward to a good event. “There are many of our patrons that enjoy dendera music and there are many dendera fans out there that would want to see these musicians on the same stage. We are happy to announce that they will be together on stage at the same time,” said Freddie Kabungidze of The Eland.
“What is more interesting is that they will be using one band. They will not take turns, but they will be all on stage throughout the show. We are excited about the show.”
The Eland bar, which is pupolarly known as “Pagango”, has hosted a number of musicians this year while its popularity has been enhanced by ‘Gango’ that has taken the capital by storm.
The Eland will also be part of the upcoming Gango Festival set for August 12 at Belgravia Sports club. It will be a festivity of meat and drinks at the fete and the upcoming dendera show at The Eland will build up to the event.
