ZIMBABWEAN supplements company TrySupps Zimbabwe has been honoured with the Africa Hall of Fame – Masters of Masters Award, with company founder Ryan Gumbo receiving the accolade on behalf of the firm at a ceremony held on Friday night.
The recognition places TrySupps among businesses and professionals recognised by the Africa Hall of Fame for achievements and contributions within their respective fields.
Gumbo said the award was a significant milestone for the company, which he said was established with a vision of building a Zimbabwean brand capable of competing on the wider African market.
“This recognition means a lot to me because TrySupps started with a vision: to build something Zimbabwean that could inspire people, transform lives, and stand proudly among great African brands,” Zimbabwe Men’s Physique champion and bodybuilder Gumbo said.
He said the company’s journey had been characterised by challenges that required the business to continuously adapt and improve.
“The journey has not always been easy,” he said.
“Like every business, we have faced challenges, made mistakes, learned, adapted, and kept moving forward.”
Gumbo said the award should not be viewed as an individual achievement, but as recognition of the collective efforts of the company, its customers, partners and athletes.
“That is why tonight, I don’t see this award as mine alone,” he said.
“It belongs to the entire TrySupps team, our loyal customers, our partners, our athletes, and everyone who has believed in our vision and supported us along the way.”
The award comes as Zimbabwean businesses continue to seek opportunities to expand their brands beyond the domestic market and compete across Africa.
Gumbo said the recognition had strengthened TrySupps’ determination to expand its ambitions while contributing to opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
“To every young African entrepreneur with a dream, I want to say this: start where you are, use what you have, believe in your vision, and never allow difficult seasons to make you give up on what you are building,” he said.
He said the company was proud to represent Zimbabwe on an African platform, but regarded the award as motivation to pursue further growth.
“We are incredibly proud to represent Zimbabwe on this platform, but this is not the finish line,” Gumbo said.
“For TrySupps, this recognition is motivation to dream even bigger, serve more people, create more opportunities, and continue building a brand that Zimbabwe and Africa can be proud of.”
According to the Africa Hall of Fame Secretariat, TrySupps was nominated for the Masters of Masters Award in recognition of its leadership, contribution and impact within its industry.
The award ceremony was held on August 8 and brought together various personalities and organisations recognised under the Africa Hall of Fame initiative.
The Secretariat said the event was intended to celebrate African excellence and recognise individuals and organisations considered to have made significant contributions in their respective fields.
Gumbo expressed gratitude to the organisers and congratulated other honourees.
“Thank you to the Africa Hall of Fame for this incredible recognition, and congratulations to all the other honorees here tonight,” he said.
He said TrySupps would use the recognition as encouragement to continue building its Zimbabwean identity while pursuing a wider African footprint.
“May we continue building, inspiring, and showing the world what Africa is capable of,” Gumbo said.
