TSHIKI CHALLENGES BOSSO BIG BOYS ; Centenary Pressure On Underperforming Stars

EX-HIGHLANDERS hitman Njabulo “Tshiki” Ncube has fired a warning shot at Bosso’s big names, telling them to pull up their socks and honour the club’s 100 years with performances worthy of the famous black and white jersey.

Bosso survived by the skin of their teeth last season after a painful campaign that saw them flirting with relegation until the final day. For a club of Highlanders’ pedigree, survival alone was a humiliation.

“I reckon the team did not play well last season. It was a paining experience for such a big club,” said Tshiki.

With Bosso celebrating a century of existence this season, the former Warriors striker says there is no room for passengers, especially in attack.

“This year Bosso will be celebrating 100 years of existence and I call out for improved standards from the strikers. They should be clinical in front of goal. This is also a challenge to the new players. It all needs a collective effort to make the followers happy,” said Tshiki.

The former FC Platinum, Railstars and Motor Action forward has thrown down the gauntlet at a time when Bosso is undergoing a massive rebuild.

The Bulawayo giants recently released a host of players including Mason Mushore, Mckinnon Mushore, Melikhaya Ncube, Mbonisi Ncube, Honest Mhlanga, Nqobile Ndlovu, Martin Nhubu, Atusaye Nyondo and Learnmore Muyambo.

In a statement, the club thanked the players for their dedication and commitment during their time at Bosso.

The shake up has also hit the technical bench. Bosso have unveiled South African coach Thabo Senong as their new head coach, with former Highlanders defender Mkhokheli Dube returning home as assistant coach.

Dube’s return has been warmly received by the Bosso faithful, with many believing his deep understanding of the club’s culture and traditions will help restore pride in the dressing room.

Highlanders say more signings and technical appointments will be announced soon.

Senong has already admitted the task ahead is huge and insists only unity will take Bosso back to where they belong.

The 45 year old coach has signed a two year deal and has been given a top six finish target as part of the centenary celebrations, with junior development also forming a key part of the long term vision.

Bosso have already brought in five new players, including former Chicken Inn goalkeeper Pride Zendera, Mongameli Tshuma and Tawanda Shenje from Hwange, Royn Nyamono from Bikita Minerals and Rayton Chuma from Nust.
