Tsholotsho are Naph Matabeleland North track and field champions

TSHOLOTSHO are the 2023 Matabeleland North National Association of Primary School Heads (Naph) provincial track and field athletics winners after putting up a gusty performance at Amazon Stadium in Lupane on Thursday.

Iziqholo zeZhwane amassed 38 medals after bagging 19 gold, nine silver and 10 bronze respectively with their closest rivals, hosts Lupane a distant seven gold medals behind over and above their 11 silver and nine bronze.

Yesteryear powerhouse Hwange settled for bronze in overall position after getting 12 gold, 15 silver and the same number of bronze medals as those amassed by the hosts.

The athletics meet is part of the province’s selection process for the provincial team that will square off against nine other provinces in the national finals to be held in Chinhoyi next week.
