ONE of the fast-rising rhumba groups from Tsholotsho, MST Mbamba Express Band is set to release its fifth album titled Wasinda Indlebe Ngodaka next week Saturday.

Hailing from Mbamba in Tsholotsho, the three-member band has members, Thubelihle “Tboss” Ncube also known as SamaHah, Melodius ‘MK’ Ndlovu and Mondli ‘SMS’ Sibanda who, like many rhumba groups from the Matabeleland region, are based in South Africa.

Tboss said Wasinda Indlebe Ngodaka has six songs that carry a message of advice.

Other tracks include Sithandwa Sami, Impilo, Isonto and Dadewethu.  Sithandwa Sami is about a woman complaining about a husband who used to love her, but suddenly abandoned his duties after they got married. Impilo is about orphans contemplating being left by their parents and being subjected to abuse by their guardians. The song Dadewethu talks about how men cohabit with women without paying lobola to their in-laws.

The group was formed in 2014 and released its first album titled Amalegend 40 in 2015. MST Mbamba Express Band released Kutshaya Edonsayo in 2016 and the album had a hit song Amacellphone which was widely played on local and South African radio stations. In 2019, the group released Inhlonipho and last year, dished out Usizi lomhlaba after being disturbed by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
