Tsholotsho to host International Disaster Risk Reduction Day commemorations

TSHINO Primary School in Tsholotsho District will on Thursday host this year’s International Disaster Risk Reduction Day commemorations, which will be officiated by the Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Daniel Garwe.

The local organising committee, led by Tsholotsho District Development Coordinator Mr Aaron Gono, is today holding its final preparatory meeting at the venue to fine-tune arrangements for the event.

The meeting is being attended by the Ward 5 Councillor, who is also Tsholotsho Rural District Council chairperson, Cllr Rophas Ndlovu, officials from the Local Government Ministry’s provincial and head offices, Civil Protection Unit officials, village heads from the host ward, and members of the local business community.

More than 3 000 people, including senior Government officials, are expected to attend the commemorations.

District pride, Insimbi ZeZhwane, will provide entertainment to the delegates.
