Tsuro granted US$500 bail

been granted US$500 bail.
Gordon Tsuro (47) is being charged for contravening the Domestic Violence Act.
Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Silas Chitongo on Monday granted Tsuro bail and remanded him to June 3 for routine remand.
The State had strenuously opposed bail.
Tsuro who was represented by Mr Norman Chigiya of Mupindu Legal Practitioners was ordered to report at Avondale Police station three times a week.
He was also ordered not to interfere with State witnesses and to find alternative accommodation outside Chitungwiza.
Tsuro was also advised not to visit his wife Rosemary Charlie at Chitungwiza Central Hospital where she is being treated.
Mr Chigiya had applied for bail arguing that his client was simply a victim of negative publicity in the press.
The dispute, he argued, was ignited by the fact that Charlie was having an affair with one Freckson Ropi.
To this end, Charlie had provoked Tsuro by telling him that her boyfriend performed better in bed than him.
He also said Charlie had actually threatened to sell their matrimonial house.
Prosecutor Mr Henry Muringani alleged that on May 16 at around 11 pm Tsuro and his wife had a misunderstanding over house ownership.
Tsuro allegedly pummelled his wife with an axe handle on the arms, ribs and legs resulting in her sustaining multiple fractures.
She is recovering at Chitungwiza Central Hospital.
Mr Chigiya was assisted by Mr Philip Hamunakwadi.
