PRESIDENT Mnangagwa’s work ethic has attracted a number of opposition members to the ruling party including family members of late MDC founding leader Mr Morgan Tsvangirai.
This week Collins Tsvangirai, brother to Mr Tsvangirai, dumped CCC and defected to Zanu PF.
Mr Tsvangirai attended a returnees’ induction programme being spearheaded by Cde Blessing Chebundo at the Zanu-PF headquarters in Harare.
A number of high profile former MDC members such as Tongai Matutu, Blessing Chebundo, Obert Gutu, Lillian Temvious, James Makore among others defected to Zanu PF after realising that President Mnangagwa is embracing everyone and is leaving no one and no place behind in his developmental trajectory.
Zanu PF Secretary for Finance and Economic Affairs Cde Patrick Chinamasa confirmed the development saying Mr Tsvangirai is one of the returnees who is undergoing a training workshop to understand the party’s ethos and values.
“It’s true that Cde Tsvangirai has dumped CCC and defected to Zanu PF. Last week, he was at Zanu PF headquarters attending a strategic meeting. After the meeting, he had a photo shoot with some senior party members.
“Cde Collins Tsvangirai is undergoing returnees’ induction workshop at the Zanu PF headquarters which started last week through the returnees programmes championed by Cde Chebundo. He is now one of us, but there are some channels which need to be followed, which he is currently undertaking,” said Cde Chinamasa.
